Trim Levels (Exterior)

Four trims are available for the 2022 Ford Escape: S, SE, SEL, and Titanium. Starting with the S, you get 17-inch steel wheels with the SE adding upgrades such as alloy wheels and chrome exterior trim. For colder climates, the Cold Weather package adds heated outdoor mirrors. Meanwhile, the Convenience package upgrades the headlights and adds a power liftgate. Opting for the SE gives access to an SE Sport Appearance package that includes a blacked-out look via black exterior elements and 19-inch black-painted wheels. The features both Convenience and Cold Weather packages offer come standard with the SEL and up. In addition, the SEL gives you fog lights, roof rails, and 18-inch wheels. A blacked-out look can be achieved via the SEL Stealth AWD package. The luxurious Titanium adds LED fog lights and headlamps, chrome exterior trim, roof rails, and 19-inch wheels.

Engine (Power)

The standard engine for the S, SE, and SEL is a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces up to 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with an automatic eight-speed transmission. Moving up to the Titanium upgrades the engine to a 2.5-liter hybrid engine making up to 200 horsepower, and it is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission. This engine is available for the SE and SEL as well. Finally, an optional engine for the SEL or Titanium that will add some pep to your ride is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, making up to 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.

Performance

The S, SE, and SEL feature standard front-wheel drive with an all-wheel-drive option for a little extra traction, while the Titanium includes the all-wheel-drive system as standard. With a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds, you can bring the big toys for an outdoor adventure with your 2022 Ford Escape.

Interior

The 2022 Ford Escape provides convenience and comfort for all occupants. Standard features include a 4.2-inch display screen powering a six-speaker sound system and a Wi-Fi hot spot. The SE upgrades to an 8-inch touch screen with satellite radio and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, adding a Wi-Fi hot spot and keyless entry and ignition. Moving up to the SEL gives you a power driver's seat, dual-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel, and heated front seats. Finally, the upscale Titanium adds an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a power-adjustable passenger seat, and ambient lighting.

Safety Features

All trims have a blind-spot monitor, lane departure mitigation, and forward collision mitigation. Optional features include a head-up display, an automated parking system, parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, and a lane-keeping system. In the event of a collision, the advanced air bag system will deploy to help protect you and your passengers.
