HOW OFTEN DOES ENGINE OIL NEED TO BE CHANGED?

Modern Ford cars, trucks, and SUVs are equipped with an Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor System which automatically calculates when a service/oil change is due based on operating conditions and vehicle use. Typical driving conditions and use would lead to an oil change between 7,500 miles and 10,000 miles. If a vehicle is used for a lot of towing, driven off-road, or on mountain passes, an oil change may be required sooner.

Check the owner's manual for your specific Ford and how to obtain a dipstick reading. If your vehicle is equipped with the Intelligent Oil-Life Monitoring System, you will be able to check the oil life on the dash.
